Ukrainian TV channel TRK Ukraina (ТРК Україна) will broadcast Ukraine - England World Cup 2010 qualification match. It's a good option for those who think that £12 for one on-line game is a bit too much.

Note: site is in Ukrainian and need to have plug-in for microsoft mediaplayer.

Why
The simple question Why I started this blog? doesn't have a simple answer. I did that partly because I need to improve my English as one friend of mine does. Despite the fact I have been living and working in the UK for more than 3 years I still speak very simple English and make many mistakes. I am not proud of this, no. In my defence I can say that as a technical person I spend majority of my time at work dealing with stupid and boring computer programs.
On another hand, I like travelling, especially by car and have been to many-many places around the UK. I realise that I have seen more Britain that majority of my British collages.
Moreover, I know how difficult it can be to choose a right place to go. So maybe my experience will help someone. Who knows? :)
So in next few posts I will try to summarise what interesting and not well know you can find in the UK.
At the end a bit of humor from my favorite English actor - Simon Pegg

Why I like Google and don't Microsoft
I want to begin with confession. I don't like MS but I still use its OS. At work and mostly because it's company policy. There are no technical problems to use Linux or even MacOS at work as I write in Java. Moreover I have been using Fedora (former Red Hat) at home for about 8 years.
I agree that supporting and maintaining a bunch of PC's on Windows platform is cheaper and simpler but this is just historical injustice.
The fundamental difference between MS and Google is they utilize different business models. MS generate money by selling soft. So to get more they need to write more and sell more as well (and more is opposite to better in this case). This is why all the new versions of Windows OS since Win95 have brought no significant improvements technology- or performance-wise but nicer user interface. Again all Vista hot features have been existing in MacOS for a while.
It is not only about OS which is complex and massive amount of code. The same happens to IE, for example. At the moment it is a way behind its main rivals - Firefox, Opera etc. in terms of usability and reliability.
Google in other hand provide free services. It started with solution for trivial problem - indexing and finding relevant information. They not just were in right place and at right time as had been MS at their days but also Google have sense of direction if you like. Let's be honest MS had not paid enough attention to Web before Google kicked off. They spent millions fighting Oracle, Sun, IBM and others IT giants. Now they need to spend even more to develop all those products they have to be able to compete. All internet products from MS are shameful and written by people who do not know what a friendly web application is. It feels like they use the same approach as for writing OS.
Yes, Google wrote it's own internet browser but only because it's easy to develop new one than make everything running correctly on that slow and unreliable IE. And if one day Google service stop working in IE and there 2 or 3 alternative products in market, nobody will think too long before clicking on Donwload button. Believe me, that day is comming.

Harmony :)
I have just realized how amazing is to drive a car in rain at Richmond Park at 20 mph listening to "Weather with you" by Crowded House and looking at clean blue sky on the horizon somewhere above Heathrow or Windsor. It's just inexpressible :)

Launched at last
I has been thinking about launching blog in English for long time. I already have one in Ukrainian which is my native tongue but sometimes I have something to say in English (or English-ish) as well.
So here we are.
